Family Trip to Lake Cumberland, KY

The Gzym family headed for Lake Cumberland, Kentucky, in August, 1997. The whole trip was well organized by Phil, cruising on his jet ski in the picture at the right, and included 4 days and nights relaxing and playing on a houseboat. Click on the pictures to see larger photos.

One of a "million" (or so) little bays on Lake Cumberland. Phil located this one for our first night on the boat. Like most of the lake, it was quiet and tranquil The waterfall gave it that extra special feeling. Click on the picture to see a larger image.
Some people have fun and take risks at the same time. Here Jessa climbes the rocky wall to attach herself to a rope swing before shooting out over the water for a "splashing" finish. Only the younger crowd took part in this activity, while the rest of us watched. Click on the picture to see a larger image.
After the lake cruise, we stopped off at Cumberland Falls, home of the famous "moon bow" which is a rainbow that appears at night during a full moon. That's their claim and we believed them. For us, it was a pretty spot to get a picture of Doug and Betsy.
What's a vacation without golf? Hardly a vacation to Doug. Here he is with Dave Gannon on the 'Mountain nine' at the Heatherhurst golf course in Tennessee playing a round on the way to Kentucky.
Studying the putt or falling asleep? Doug enjoys the relaxing and scenic round of golf with Dave (above), Betsy, and Kris at Fairfield Glade, TN. We would recommend all three golf courses there, as well as the quiet relaxation provided by this country setting.
